Ever wonder how we got our name? Well…according to the New Oxford American Dictionary...
Given the definition, anyone that has been to one of our estate sales would understand the meaning behind our company's unique name.
Being in the consignment and estate sale business is far from ordinary. Every weekend at our off-site sales there are lines out the door full of people anxious to get inside to rummage through everything the sale has to offer.
No two sales are alike, which makes working them that much more fun. There are smaller sales with only furniture, and there are sales with enough baking supplies and kitchen utensils to fill up an entire basement. At many of our sales, we try to get rid of everything, from antiques to artwork or from half full bottles of Windex to unopened cans of soup. But, as they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure," and our sales are living proof.
Our sales also prove that if you have a lot of interesting and unique items to sell, chances are you'll have a lot of interesting and unique people who come to buy them. There are the "professional estate sale types" who come ready to bargain with a list of items they researched, and there are the "first-timers" just passing through to see what they can find. But all of our customers come with fascinating stories and personalities, making for an eclectic environment.
With so many different types of people, there are bound to be some arguments over who gets what and for how much. So there may not be "fights" or "skirmishes" in the way you might think, but at an estate sale there is definitely chaos, organized chaos that is.
